The first major vivo launch for 2025 introduces the sleek V50 model. This smartphone focuses on photography, boasting a thin design, an immersive display, and an impressively large battery. It features a trio of 50MP cameras with Zeiss optics.
Vivo’s V models have long been known for their all-round capabilities, especially in terms of photo and video quality at a midrange price. Each year, these models receive small upgrades. Last year, the V40 stood out by adding water protection and stereo speakers. This year, the V50 perfects the formula further.
The V50 introduces a refined design, a larger Aura light, and an updated 50MP main camera with an improved OV50e sensor. The addition of Zeiss optics for all three cameras enhances the overall experience. The phone now also houses a larger 6,000mAh battery, offering faster 90W charging.
The V50 has a 6.77-inch 1080p AMOLED display, a slight downgrade from the 6.78″ AMOLED with 1260p seen in previous models. However, the V50 introduces a new Dimond Shield Glass, which is up to 50% more drop-resistant than the previous model’s Schott glass.
Like its predecessors, the V50 is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chip. It offers memory options up to 12GB RAM and 512GB of storage. The camera setup consists of a 50MP main, 50MP AF ultrawide, and 50MP AF selfie camera. All three cameras feature Zeiss optics, and the focus remains on improving Portrait mode photos.
The V50 also packs a larger 6,000mAh battery with 90W fast charging. It runs on Android 15 with the Funtouch 15 skin and will receive three major software updates.
