The Government of Sindh has announced a new phase of its Pink EV Scooter Scheme. This initiative aims to improve mobility for women across the province. As part of the latest rollout, the program will now reach another major district.
Hyderabad included in next distribution phase
According to the Sindh Information Department, the government will distribute pink electric scooters in Hyderabad on May 22. This step is part of a broader transport initiative focused on women’s mobility and independence.
The program continues to expand across multiple cities in Sindh. Moreover, officials say the rollout reflects the government’s long-term transport planning strategy.
Focus on women’s safe and affordable transport
The Pink EV Scooter Scheme targets female students and working women. It aims to provide safer and more affordable transportation options.
In addition, the program also supports eco-friendly mobility. The electric scooters reduce fuel dependence and promote cleaner urban transport.
Beneficiaries receive more than just vehicles. They also undergo driving training. Furthermore, the program includes helmets and road safety awareness sessions.
Government calls it a key empowerment step
Senior Sindh Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon described the initiative as a major step toward women’s empowerment. He said the program helps improve access to education and employment.
