[Islamabad, 11th September, 2017]: Sidra Iqbal, a celebrated television journalist and a passionate development activist from Pakistan, is now also the lead consultant and curator of Raabta – A Public Diplomacy Initiative by Serena Hotels.
Iqbal has been involved in a number of development activities in the past that aim to bring a positive change in our society. Sidra is also the consultant for Azme-Naujawan, a youth skills consortium of leading community organizations in Karachi that was launched on International Youth Day (Aug 12) this year in Pakistan.
Iqbal, on being brain behind this initiative, stated, “I am delighted to design and lead Raabta as the Curator. The name ‘Raabta’ literally translates to ‘connection, people’s bridge’ and the forum envisions to put informed and inclusive dialogue at the heart of building a sustainable future. Our three focus areas are Culture, Economy, and Future. We aim to bank on support from academic, corporate and development communities through regular public events on timely subjects.”
Raabta is all set to launch with a spectacular event on Thursday Septembef 14th at Serena Islamabad. A panel discussion is planned for the launch event. It is titled as “Pakistan of Tomorrow – Culture, Economy and Future” and will be moderated by Sidra Iqbal. The panel will have notable speakers who will be speaking about their perspective of present day economic and development trends, role of public diplomacy and the impact of dialogue & inclusion in building our shared future
