Swaarangi all set to release across Pakistan on 28th August 2015

Swaarangi (A Phida Hussain Film) is a truly unique film in the backdrop of Pakistani cinema. Star cast includes Resham and Ayub Khoso, and background score is by Sahir Ali Bagga. Others in the cast include Waseem Manzoor and Naveed Akbar.

Swaarangi is based on actual events in the life of an ordinary woman from an ordinary village. The movie which is shot completely in distant rural areas within Pakistan marks Resham’s come back to the silver screen after 7 years.

Swaarangi will be released across Pakistan on August 28, 2015.

Synopsis of Swaarangi 

Salma is struggling to keep her family together against all social and economic odds. She is a mother of two and she wants her children to get education and live a happy life. But unfortunately her husband Jamal is a drug addict. His social circuit consists of people who are drug sellers and murderers. They see Jamal as an instrument that they could use to achieve their evil targets. Jamal’s addiction has pushed his family into economic and emotional despair. To make the ends meet, one day Jamal’s drug supplier advice him to sell his children (Asad and Haris) into forced labor, into a place that is situated far away.
Swaarangi is an entwined story about life, fate, sacrafice and survival.
