Karachi residents can expect some relief from the recent heat this week as weather conditions begin to stabilize, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department. PMD spokesperson Anjum Nazir confirmed that sea breezes have resumed and will help moderate temperatures across the city over the coming days.
The announcement brings welcome news for Karachiites after a particularly hot stretch of weather in recent days.
What PMD Says About the Week Ahead
Karachi experienced a hot day on April 12, with temperatures reaching 39.5 degrees Celsius due to northeasterly winds. However, conditions have since begun to improve as sea breezes return to the city.
Over the next 8 to 10 days, no intense heatwave conditions are expected. Temperatures will likely remain around 35 degrees Celsius during this period. Furthermore, a slight dip of 1 to 2 degrees is possible on April 16 due to incoming cloud cover. However, PMD confirmed that no rainfall is expected in Karachi during this time.
Western Weather System Approaching Pakistan
A western weather system will enter Pakistan from April 16 and will mainly affect northern regions of the country. The system may bring strong winds and light rain to parts of upper Sindh, including Larkana, between April 16 and 18.

Karachi will not directly experience the effects of this system. Nevertheless, the cloud cover associated with its movement may contribute to the slight temperature drop expected on April 16.
Residents should stay updated through official PMD advisories as conditions develop through the week. While no extreme weather is expected in Karachi, the return of sea breezes and moderating temperatures offer meaningful relief after the recent heat.
