Ajith Kumar’s highly anticipated film Good Bad Ugly is gearing up for a big-screen release this Thursday. Following the disappointing performance of Vidaamuyarchi, Ajith is all set to make a grand return with this action-packed thriller, which is reportedly his most expensive project to date.
With high expectations surrounding the film, the early buzz is more promising than its predecessor, and the advance bookings reflect this growing interest.
The film is scheduled for release on April 10, meaning there are still five days left, but the advance booking is already showing strong numbers. At present, around 1,550 shows have been listed, and the final show count is expected to rise in the next few days as the release date nears.
The recent release of the highly anticipated trailer has further boosted the film’s pre-sales, with positive reactions driving an increase in ticket sales.
As of 1 pm IST, Good Bad Ugly has already racked up ₹4.90 crore in gross earnings from its Day 1 advance bookings (excluding blocked seats), selling over 2.49 lakh tickets.
Tamil Nadu leads the charge, contributing ₹4.86 crore of the total amount, while Karnataka has sold ₹4 lakh worth of tickets.
With ₹4.90 crore already in the bag, Good Bad Ugly has outperformed the opening day collections of films like Veera Dheera Sooran and Madha Gaja Raja, which earned ₹3.77 crore and ₹3.54 crore, respectively, on their opening days.
Given the current momentum, Good Bad Ugly is expected to set a new record for the highest opening day pre-sales in Kollywood for 2025, surpassing Vidaamuyarchi’s impressive ₹18.40 crore. It seems Ajith Kumar’s latest film is poised for a blockbuster opening.
