Cricket legend Wasim Akram may be preparing to enter Pakistani television dramas, according to recent industry reports. The former Pakistan captain is reportedly in talks to appear alongside actress Mahnoor Baloch in an upcoming drama. If the casting moves forward, the project would bring two well-known personalities from different fields together on screen.
Wasim Akram remains one of Pakistan’s most celebrated cricket stars. Known worldwide for his fast bowling and remarkable career, he has also explored opportunities in entertainment. His appearance in the 2023 film Money Back Guarantee introduced him to audiences in a different role, and a television drama could mark another step in his showbiz journey.
Wasim Akram and Mahnoor Baloch May Star in an Upcoming Drama
According to reports circulating in Pakistani entertainment media, Wasim Akram is being considered for a drama featuring Mahnoor Baloch. The actress has maintained a prominent place in the industry for decades, and the reported project could form part of her return to television.
Reports also suggest that director Fahim Burney may helm the serial. He has directed several Pakistani television productions, including the drama Iqtidar. However, the available information does not confirm the drama’s title, its channel, or the final cast.
Wasim’s possible transition to television has attracted attention because his career has largely centred on cricket and public appearances. His role in Money Back Guarantee offered a glimpse of his screen presence, but a television serial would give viewers a different opportunity to see him perform.

The reported pairing has also drawn interest from people in the entertainment industry. Actress Javeria Abbasi has reportedly expressed excitement about the news. Still, neither the casting details nor the production schedule should be treated as final until the makers or the actors confirm them.
For Mahnoor Baloch, the project could bring renewed attention to her television career. For Wasim Akram, it could open another chapter beyond cricket and film appearances.
At present, viewers will have to wait for an official announcement to learn whether the two stars will share the screen. If the reports prove accurate, Wasim Akram’s television drama debut could become an interesting crossover between Pakistan’s sporting and entertainment worlds.
