Pakistan’s Young Players Make a Strong Statement
With senior players Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan rested for this series, Pakistan have given other members of the squad an opportunity to take responsibility. Farhan has responded with two substantial scores and a winning start to his captaincy. Maaz has also demonstrated his ability to accelerate the innings and challenge opposition bowlers.

Pakistan’s batting performances have been particularly encouraging. The team chased a demanding target in the first match and then posted more than 200 in the second. Their bowlers backed up that effort by restricting Sri Lanka to a much lower total in the series’ second game.
Pakistan have now secured the series with a 2-0 lead. They will aim to complete a clean sweep in the third T20I, while Sri Lanka will look to finish the tour with a consolation win. Farhan’s early success has given Pakistan a positive platform to build on as the team continues to develop its T20 approach.
