Pakistan’s Documentary on Afghan Children Wins Award from Bulgaria

Pakistan’s filmmaker, Khalid Hasan khan’s documentary, Twinkling without Shining (Afghans in Search of Childhood) has won an award from the GOLDEN FEMI REFUGEES FILM FESTIVAL (SALVATION CALLED CULTURE), in the city of Sofia, Bulgaria, EU.

Creative Director of Golden FEMI Film Festival, Efemia Fard wrote in her greeting message, “we are delighted that you submitted your magnificent film to the festival!”

The documentary deals with predicament of the Afghan displaced children who have long been living in Pakistan as breadwinners for their families, back in Afghanistan. 

Khalid Hasan Khan mentioned, ” it is the sixth international award for Twinkling without Shining; earlier, the project has bagged five awards; two from South Korea; one each from Ukraine, Türkiye and the United States of America.”

Khalid Hasan Khan is an award-winning filmmaker, a graduate from New York Film Academy, Los Angeles, California; with over twenty four international awards; his different fiction and non-fiction projects have officially been screened in, more than  eighty international film festivals, in all continents, across countries, including Australia, Bangladesh, Belarus, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Greece, France, India, Italy, Nigeria, Russian Federation, Singapore, Slovakia, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, Türkiye, Ukraine, United Kingdom and United States.
