Nawaz Sharif highlights challenges faced by Pakistan in his latest address

In a candid address during the 14th parliamentary session of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) at the Model Town Secretariat, Quaid Muhammad Nawaz Sharif expressed his concern over the state of the nation under the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government. The session, attended by prominent PML-N leaders, including President Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Chief Organiser Maryam Nawaz, provided a platform for Nawaz Sharif to discuss pressing challenges, with a special emphasis on unprecedented inflation.

Nawaz Sharif, visibly pleased to reunite with his colleagues after a prolonged period, outlined the PML-N’s comprehensive preparations for the upcoming elections. Confident in the party’s prospects, he anticipated securing a significant majority nationwide.

Addressing the vital role of women in national progress, Nawaz Sharif stressed that countries prioritizing women’s development have experienced substantial progress. He called for active female participation in health, employment, and education sectors, citing their unique contributions as instrumental in achieving national development goals.

Highlighting societal biases against women, Nawaz Sharif advocated for the elimination of such prejudices. Recognizing the protection Islam provides to women, he commended their historical role in building Pakistan. He asserted that women could surpass men in societal development and urged their inclusion in decision-making processes.

Reflecting on his 2013 tenure as prime minister, Nawaz Sharif underscored Pakistan’s political and economic strength during that period. He credited the PML-N for achievements such as overcoming load-shedding, counter-terrorism efforts, and initiating transformative projects like the Lahore Metro bus and train and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

Nawaz Sharif also addressed the challenges faced during the PTI’s rule, highlighting false cases against him, his family, and party workers. He recounted his imprisonment and expulsion from government, questioning the unprecedented nature of these actions. Nawaz Sharif noted that cases against him had been decided in his favor, calling for acknowledgment of the injustices endured during that period.
