Karachi Biennale Trust helps Karachiites explore the city with Art Ki Talaash

Karachi, September 4, 2016: Early this morning NJV School, a heritage site, came alive with activity as enthusiatic Karachiites came together to participate in Art Ki Talaash, a scavenger hunt with a difference, a project of Karachi Biennale Trust, the organisers of the First Karachi Biennale. It had been especially designed to help participants to connect with the history of Karachi. After complimentary tea and cupcakes by TCJ and Emaan’s cupcakes respectively, Art ki Talaash sent a large number of teams across Karachi in search of answers to art-related clues given to them in the morning. The teams went all through the city to sites that were as far-flung as the airport and the harbour, and from Gulshan to Clifton. Not only did Art Ki Talaash test how well the teams knew Karachi but also gave them a fun day with friends and family while exploring this wonderful city.

As the day wound down teams started poring in back to NJV with their final answers and a dash to be the first back so as to increase their chance to win the contest. The evening’s festivities marking the end of Art Ki Talaash were filled with prizes, music and merriment. As the results were being compiled, the participants were treated to an unplugged performance by Kristin Kanaria of Nescafe Basement fame. Music, good company and amazing edibles by the tea partners TCJ and Pie in the Sky set the mood for the evening after a long day of hunting for answers.
