The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast another spell of monsoon rain across the country. The latest advisory says a low pressure area over southwest Rajasthan is strengthening monsoon activity in southern and central Pakistan.
The weather system will bring rain, thunderstorms, and isolated heavy falls to many districts. Most affected areas will receive rain between 24 July and 27 July. Some northern regions may continue to receive showers until 28 July.
Rain forecast for multiple regions
Sindh is likely to receive widespread rain and thunderstorms. The affected districts include Tharparkar, Umerkot, Mirpur Khas, Badin, Sanghar, Hyderabad, Jamshoro, Sukkur, Larkana, Khairpur, Jacobabad, Kashmore, Shikarpur, and Thatta.
Karachi may also receive rain on 25 and 26 July. However, the city will mostly experience clear to partly cloudy weather during this period.
Punjab will also see another round of monsoon rain. Lahore, Sheikhupura, Okara, Sahiwal, Multan, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Dera Ghazi Khan, Muzaffargarh, Rajanpur, and Rahim Yar Khan may receive heavy showers at isolated places.
Islamabad and Rawalpindi are also likely to receive rain and thunderstorms. Murree, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Narowal, Jhelum, Gujrat, Chakwal, Hafizabad, and several nearby districts remain under the forecast.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is expected to receive rain in Peshawar, Mardan, Swat, Chitral, Dir, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Kohat, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Tank, and Dera Ismail Khan. Several other districts may also experience thunderstorms during the forecast period.
The Met Office has also predicted rain in Gilgit Baltistan. Gilgit, Hunza, Skardu, Ghizer, Diamir, Astore, Ghanche, and Shigar are likely to receive showers.
Azad Jammu and Kashmir will remain under the influence of the weather system until 28 July. Rain is expected in Muzaffarabad, Neelum Valley, Rawalakot, Bagh, Kotli, Bhimber, Mirpur, and nearby areas.
Northern and northeastern parts of Balochistan may also receive rain and thunderstorms. Zhob, Loralai, Kohlu, Sibbi, Barkhan, Dera Bugti, Khuzdar, Awaran, Naseerabad, and surrounding districts are included in the latest forecast.
PMD advises caution during the rainy spell
The Pakistan Meteorological Department has warned that heavy rainfall may cause urban flooding in low lying areas. Lahore, Gujranwala, Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Sukkur, Hyderabad, Thatta, Badin, Sanghar, Mirpur Khas, Umerkot, Multan, Faisalabad, and several other cities face a higher risk.

Strong winds and lightning may damage weak structures. These include electric poles, billboards, and solar panel installations.
The Met Office has advised tourists and travelers to stay alert throughout the forecast period. Farmers should also plan crop activities according to the latest weather conditions. They should take steps to protect both crops and livestock.
