National University of Sciences & Technology (NUST) Tuesday took a giant leap into the fold of top 200 world universities, as per University of Indonesia (UI) Green Metric global university ranking 2021.
According to the NUST, these rankings are based on universities’ contributions to reducing the ecological footprint, sustainability education and research.
As many as 956 universities from across the world were considered for the 2021 rankings, wherein NUST stood at #179, improving 69 positions as compared to the last year.
It merits mention that NUST has consistently improved its ranking and mounted 275 positions in the last 4 years.
Launched in 2010, the UI Green Metric is an annual international ranking aimed at promoting sustainability in higher education institutions.
This year, a total of 52 Pakistani universities have been ranked, wherein NUST has ascended to 2nd position in the country, improving 2 positions from the last year.
