Meta Launches Cheaper AI Smart Glasses Starting at $299

Meta has officially introduced a new lineup of AI-powered smart glasses with a lower starting price of $299, aiming to make wearable AI technology more accessible to consumers.

The latest launch marks an important step for the company as it expands beyond its earlier Ray-Ban Meta collaboration and introduces a broader smart glasses collection under Meta’s own branding.

New Meta glasses feature multiple frame styles

The new collection was developed in partnership with eyewear giant EssilorLuxottica.

Meta introduced three different frame designs for users with varying style preferences:

  • Adventurer features a classic square frame design
  • Fury comes with thicker frames
  • Starfire offers a slimmer oval-shaped style created in collaboration with Kylie Jenner

The Adventurer and Fury models start at $299, while the premium Starfire edition starts at $399.

Users can also choose from multiple colors and lens options, including prescription, polarized, and photochromic lenses.

AI features remain the main highlight

The smart glasses continue focusing heavily on AI-powered assistance and hands-free functionality.

Powered by Meta’s Muse Spark AI model, the glasses allow users to:

  • Ask questions using voice commands
  • Capture photos and videos hands-free
  • Translate conversations in real time
  • Make calls through built-in speakers and microphones

Meta also added support for 14 additional languages for live translation features.

The glasses do not include lens displays. Instead, they rely on voice interaction, cameras, microphones, and open-ear audio technology.

Battery life and future updates

Meta says the glasses offer up to eight hours of continuous battery usage. The charging case provides an additional 40 hours of battery support.

The company also announced that future updates will introduce audio-based pedestrian navigation with turn-by-turn directions.

The new Meta AI smart glasses are now available through Meta’s official website, Amazon, Best Buy, LensCrafters, and selected retail stores worldwide.
