The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government announces a free transport service for female students to support their education. This service addresses the challenges faced by girls in remote districts, particularly where distances from schools are long. The initiative ensures that these students can continue their education without transportation barriers, which have led to high school dropout rates in the past.
The government focuses on districts with difficult geographical conditions, such as Kohistan, Torghar, Hangu, and Lakki Marwat. Additionally, districts like Dera Ismail Khan, Charsadda, Kohat, and Bannu will also benefit from this initiative. The KP education department has directed district education officers to implement the program efficiently.
By providing free transportation, the government aims to make education more accessible to girls who live in areas with limited resources. This move reflects a strong commitment to enhancing educational opportunities for young girls in underserved regions.
The initiative aligns with similar efforts across Pakistan, such as the Punjab government’s student travel card, which facilitates easier access to public transport for students. Both provinces share a goal of breaking down transportation barriers, enabling female students to pursue their studies without interruptions.
This free transport service plays a crucial role in fostering educational inclusion and ensuring that every girl, regardless of her geographical location, can continue her learning journey.
