Karachi Traffic Update :- Conditions worsened in almost all cities of Pakistan and protesters came on roads after the Supreme Court ordered the acquittal of Asia Bibi, a decision that resulted in protests across the country. Asia Bibi, the mother of 3, aged 47, was convicted of blasphemy in November 2010.
Its been over 24 hours and the blockade of roads and streets is causing real hurdles for people to commute. We are trying to gather data from various sources to update our readers so that they plan their journey’s accordingly.
Here is a little traffic update for the Karachites as of 1PM on 1st November 2018, received from various commuters.
- Several points at shahrah e Faisal blocked by protesters
- Star Gate intersection at Shahrae Faisal in Karachi have been blocked by protesters, resulting in the closure of the route from Metro to Jinnah Airport.
- The route from Baloch Colony to EBM Causeway and intersection at DHA Korangi has also been closed down due to demonstrations.
- Teen Talwar is also reportedly shut down, according to updates on social media.
- Protests are also underway at Al Asif Square, 4K Chowrangi at Surjani, Godam Chowrangi and Bara Board Pak Colony, according to updates from Karachi Traffic Police Twitter account. Commuters have been requested to use alternate routes.
