Sriram Raghavan’s Badlapur stuns the audiences with mesmerizing performances of Varun Dhawan aka Raghu and Nawazuddin Siddiqui as Laik. With Badlapur Varun Dhawan moves out of his comic comfort zone and surely stunned the audience with his performance in this dark, intense revenge film. Nawazuddin Siddiqui is one star which is always a treat to watch with his unmatched acting talents.
Even the other support cast of this film fitted in wonderfully with decent performances by Huma Qureshi, Radhika Apte, Yami Gautam, Vinay Pathak, Divya Dutta, Kumud Mishra, and Pratima.
Story of Badlapur, revolves around a dejected man, Raghu, played by Varun, who is devastated over the death of his wife, played by Yami Gautam, and his son in a random bank heist. Once he finds about one of the criminals involved in the robbery, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, he sets out on a path of revenge. However, its not simple as it looks with the twists/turns in the film are unconventional.
With some brilliant performances by both Varun Dhawan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, embellished with popular songs ‘Jee Karda’ & ‘Jeena Jeena’, strong dialogues, striking visuals Badlapur becomes a must watch for this weekend. We give it a 4 on 5 stars.
