Babil Khan, son of the late actor Irrfan Khan, returned to Instagram after deleting his account following a controversial video. The emotional video, where Babil was seen crying, sparked concern among fans and led to widespread media attention. Babil had shared the video in which he criticized several celebrities, which caused him to delete both the video and his account shortly after.
In his comeback post on Instagram, Babil addressed the situation, clarifying that his video had been “extremely misinterpreted.” He stated that his intention was not to criticize but to show support for his peers in the film industry. Babil named several actors, including Ananya Panday, Shanaya Kapoor, Gaurav Adarsh, Arjun Kapoor, Raghav Juyal, and Arijit Singh, whom he had mentioned in the deleted video. He thanked Kubbra Sait for sharing the official statement from his family, which further explained his intent.
In the caption, Babil wrote, “Thank you so much. This video was extremely misinterpreted. I was trying to show support to Ananya Panday, Shanaya Kapoor, Gaurav Adarsh, Arjun Kapoor, Raghav Juyal, Arijit Singh.” He also mentioned that he did not wish to engage further in the matter, but felt responsible to clarify his stance. Babil added that he admired his peers and had no negative intentions toward them.

Babil also reshared an Instagram Story from Raghav Juyal, referring to him as his idol, “Raghav Juyal, bhai you are my icon, my idol and my elder brother that I never had.” Babil’s post was well received by fans and colleagues, who supported him through the misunderstanding.
Siddhant Chaturvedi, a fellow actor, shared a video of Babil saying, “Mujhe itihaas likhna hai, kitaab nahi” (I want to write history, not a book). Babil reposted the video, expressing his love and appreciation for Siddhant. Additionally, Siddhant wrote a note addressing the media, asking them to stop sensationalizing personal matters. He urged that focus should remain on the hard work and efforts of the actors instead of their personal lives.
In a statement released by Babil’s family, it was clarified that the video was meant to acknowledge Babil’s admiration for his peers in the Indian film industry. The actors mentioned in the video are seen by Babil as people who contribute meaningfully to the industry, bringing passion, authenticity, and credibility to their craft.
