She was married to Surinder Kapoor, a film producer and the President of the Film & Television Producers Guild of India from 1995 to 2001. Although the exact cause of her death hasn’t been disclosed, it is believed that age-related issues led to her passing. Nirmal Kapoor took her last breath around 5:45 pm at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital.

He shared an emotional memory, recalling how she used to sew clothes for them. “The sewing machine reminds me of those days. My mother used to make clothes for me just like you make these pants and shirts,” he said.
