Who is Dr Arfa Sayeda Zehra?
Dr Arfa Sayeda Zehra was widely admired for her academic depth and her lifelong commitment to education. She graduated from Lahore College for Women University and Government College University Lahore before earning her PhD from Hawaii, USA. After returning to Pakistan, she dedicated her career to uplifting the education sector through leadership roles, including her tenure as Principal of Government College for Women Gulberg and later her service at Forman Christian College University.
Throughout her career, she remained a passionate advocate for educational reform, women’s rights, democratic values, and the preservation of Pakistani culture. Her voice carried weight not only in academic circles but also in public discourse, where she consistently championed equality, justice, and intellectual freedom.
Dr Arfa Sayeda Zehra also served as Special Advisor to the Prime Minister on Education and National Cohesion and co-chaired the National Committee on the Status of Women. Her work influenced national dialogue, strengthened policy conversations, and inspired countless students and professionals who looked up to her as a guiding force.
