A Severe intensity Cold wave is likely to Grip Karachi and adjoining areas from 27th December 2020 to 6th January 2021 (10 days).

Karachi is also expected to receive rain from January 6-7, according to the Met dept. The cold wave in the city is likely to get more severe from next week, with the Met dept predicting that the metropolis can record its lowest temperature in seven years tomorrow.
Temperatures in Karachi will drop to upto 6-8’C, while feels like temperatures may drop to upto 4-6’C specially in Northern and Western Parts of City.
Strong Chilled Siberian winds will also batter the City with wind Speeds of 30-35kmph while Gusts Reaching upto 40-44kmph (29th – 31st December 2020).
Karachites are advised to take all precautions in order to avoid Dust and dry weather related issues. A strong intensity western disturbance may bring some wet Weather for Karachi in early days of January.
Pkistan Meteorological Department (PMD) also predicted that this new spell of cold weather in Karachi from Monday, could break the seven-year-record of lowest temperature in the city.
