PSL 9 Draft: Unveiling the List of International Cricket Stars

The cricketing world is abuzz with anticipation as the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) gears up for its 2024 Player Draft. With a staggering 485 international players hailing from 22 different countries registering for the event, the stage is set for a dynamic and talent-packed tournament.

Scheduled to take place on December 13 at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore, the PSL 9 Draft is a crucial event that shapes team compositions and strategies for the upcoming season. The participating players are categorized into Platinum and Diamond, with 46 and 76 players falling into these respective categories.

Among the foreign players, the spotlight is on renowned figures such as England’s Dawid Malan and South Africa’s Reeza Hendricks. Both players boast top 10 rankings in the ICC Men’s T20I player rankings for batters, adding an extra layer of excitement to their potential contributions in the league.

The draft also features exceptional T20I bowlers, including Sri Lanka’s Maheesh Theekshana, Afghanistan’s Fazalhaq Farooqi and Mujeeb Ur Rahman, and West Indies’ Akeal Hosein. Mohammad Nabi, the world’s No. 2 T20I all-rounder, is another notable inclusion, promising an electrifying display of all-round skills on the field.

The breakdown of players by country showcases the international flavor of the PSL, with England leading the pack with 158 players. Following closely are representatives from West Indies (58), Sri Lanka (40), Afghanistan (36), South Africa (30), Bangladesh (21), and other cricketing nations. Even associate member countries have made significant contributions to the draft, emphasizing the global nature of the league.

In the Platinum category, standout players include Dawid Malan, Chris Jordan, and Tymal Mills from England, alongside international stars from Australia, Afghanistan, and New Zealand. The Diamond category boasts its own array of cricketing talents, featuring Mohammad Nabi from Afghanistan, Ben McDermott from Australia, and Litton Das and Mahmudullah from Bangladesh, among others.
