Prince Karim Aga Khan IV Passes Away at 88

His Highness Prince Karim Al-Hussaini, Aga Khan IV, the 49th hereditary Imam of the Shia Ismaili Muslims and a direct descendant of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), passed away peacefully on 4 February 2025 in Lisbon, Portugal. Born in Geneva, Switzerland, on 13 December 1936, Prince Karim Aga Khan assumed the role of Imam in 1957 at the young age of 20, following the passing of his grandfather, Sir Sultan Mahomed Shah Aga Khan III.
