Petrol and Diesel Prices Likely to Rise from March 1

Petrol and diesel price in Pakistan are expected to hike starting 1st March 2026, according to market analysts. The proposed hike will take effect if approved by the federal government.

Arif Habib Limited reports that petrol rates, also known as Motor Spirit (MS), could rise by Rs. 5.13 per litre. This would bring the price to Rs. 263.30 per litre. High-speed diesel (HSD) prices may increase by Rs. 6.8 per litre, reaching Rs. 282.50 per litre.

Reason for the Petrol Diesel price hike

The anticipated rise in petroleum prices is mainly linked to higher international oil rates. Arab Light crude has increased by 2.7 percent recently. A slight adjustment in spreads has also contributed to the expected price hike.

The federal government has already increased fuel prices in the last fortnight. HSD was raised to Rs. 275.7 per litre, while petrol reached Rs. 258.17 per litre. The new adjustments will further affect fuel costs for consumers across the country.

The increase is likely to impact transportation, logistics, and general consumer expenses. Market observers say the move aligns with fluctuations in global oil prices and ongoing adjustments in the local petroleum pricing system.

Authorities have not officially confirmed the Petrol Diesel price hike yet, but traders and consumers are preparing for the potential revision as it could affect daily commuting and goods transportation costs.
