The Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi, hosted a momentous convocation ceremony at its Main Campus, conferring degrees upon 1,184 graduates across various disciplines. The event showcased the culmination of the students’ academic journeys, marked by distinguished guests, inspirational speeches, and recognition of outstanding achievements.

The graduating batch comprised 776 graduates from six undergraduate programs, 403 graduates from ten postgraduate programs, and five graduates from three PhD programs. Notably, nearly 40% of the graduates were young women, reflecting IBA’s commitment to empowering women in various fields.
Distinguished Guests:
The ceremony boasted the presence of esteemed guests, with Justice (Retd.) Maqbool Baqar, the Caretaker Chief Minister of Sindh and Patron IBA, serving as the Chief Guest. Dr. Azra Raza, Chan Soon-Shiong Professor of Medicine and Clinical Director at Columbia University in New York, attended as the Guest of Honor.
Encouragement from Leadership:
Dr. S Akbar Zaidi, the Executive Director of IBA Karachi, commended the graduates for their hard work and emphasized the importance of this milestone in their educational journey. He highlighted the institute’s commitment to diversity and inclusivity, with 30% of students receiving financial assistance. Dr. Zaidi also celebrated the success of the first cohort of MS Finance, underlining the institution’s expansion beyond a traditional business school.

Dr. Raza addressed the graduates, encouraging them to embrace the uncertainties of the future. She emphasized the immense capabilities of the human brain, quoting poets and urging the graduates to be consistent in their pursuits. The convocation ceremony recognized position holders across various degree programs, awarding them medals, shields, and certificates of merit. Ali Raza Khan, a swimming champion from the Class of 2024, was honored with the ‘Excellence in Sports’ award.
