According to Gulf media reports, Gaddafi initially faced a last-minute hurdle when airport authorities refused to clear his passport due to security concerns. As the delay persisted, the plane took off without him, but Amer remained steadfast, refusing to leave the airport, determined to fulfill his sacred pilgrimage.
In a miraculous turn of events, the aircraft encountered a technical fault soon after takeoff and returned to the airport. Airport officials urged the pilot to allow Gaddafi to board, but the pilot declined, and the flight departed once again without him.
