Highlights from Third day of Pantene HUM Bridal Couture Week 2018

Pakistan’s biggest bridal extravaganza Pantene HUM Bridal Couture Week 2018 by HUM Network Limited concluded on the high notes of glamour, brilliance, quality fashion and latest bridal trends. Day 3 witnessed high end celebrities on the ramp as the showstoppers for the country’s top and growing designers.

Show one of the concluding day of PHBCW started with designer duo Nickia Nina’s collection Catalina, inspired by the rich architectural and colourful culture of Cuba, which was followed by Annus Abrar’s Quos-o-Qazahh. Murtaza Hussain was next to present his collection Meer. Show one of day three was concluded by Ahsan Menswear, who presented their latest collection based on rich hand loom heavy fabrics. Show two of the last day started with Mehdi’s Garden of Eve bridal/couture collection 2018/19 which was followed by Munib Nawaz’s Farz Karo. A tribute to the satirical imaginary world of Ibn-e-Insha, his collection was an adventure in the wacky and wonderful world created by Munib Nawaz. The three-day bridal extravaganza concluded on a high note with the couture king HSY’s Shah. The King of Couture brought his #HSYxHarrisTweedHebrides collaboration to PHBCW 2018. The collection stayed true to HSY’s design ethos by merging eastern influences into western silhouettes to create a one of a kind couture collection for the festive season.

The concluding day of PHBCW brought high-end celebrities to the runway as showstoppers; the stunning Iqra Aziz and Yasir Hussain walked the ramp for designer duo Nicke Nina, and as the charming Neelum Muneer showstopped for Annus Abrar. Munib Nawaz brought the Parwaaz Hai Junoon star, Hania Amir and singing sensation Asim Azhar on the ramp while Zeb Bangash performed for the brand. Last but not least, the gorgeous Mawra Hocane added grandeur to the Couture King HSY’s collection.

Show director for PHBCW 2018 was Vaneeza Ahmed Ali. Hamna Amir was the official jewellery partner while Hair, Makeup and styling was by the iconic Nabila. All public relations operations and media liaison were carried out by the in-house PR team of HUM Network Limited, along with show production and execution by the special projects & events team at HUM Network Limited.

DESIGNERS’ INSPIRATIONS

Nickie Nina:Drawing inspiration from the rich architectural and colorful culture of Cuba. Nickie Nina reinvented Eastern couture with their Catalina collection. The collection featured luxurious velvet, paired with intricate multi-dimensional embroidery. Catalina Introduced chicken kari and digital print technique with figurative designing. The colour palette comprises jewel tones, baroque facades of Cuba with gradient yellow, pink, orange, turquoise, smoky blue and bright green which bring to life the work of detailed craftsmanship.

Annus Abrar:Quos-o-Qazahhis all about the different shades of a fashion spirit. The collection breaks stereotypical notions of tradition and fashion andbreeds a new colourful culture of refined and progressive design philosophy depicting the hues of royalty, confidence, beauty and feminism. Quos-o-Qazahh presents a colour palette of ornate hues, jubilant bling and radiant accents. The juxtaposition of luxe fabrics in an alluring fashion gives these bridal attires a grounded and imposing feeling.

Murtaza Hussain:Murtaza Hussain’s collection Meer speaks for opulence and elegance. A dulcifying magic – coruscating pastel shades in iridescent hues girded with soft detailing and a modern symphony.

Ahsan’s Menswear:This collection is based on rich hand loom heavy fabrics with black and ivory colour scheme. It features bold strong cut jackets with combination of velvet, raw silk and jamawar with handmade Rajasthani pagri and coloured stone beaded malas.

Mehdi:House of Mehdi presentsGarden of Evebridal/couture collection 2018/19. This wonderful collection encapsulates the beauty of a royal diva by reinterpreting and modernizing time-treasured classics.Bold and jewelled tones in the collection are accentuated by touches of gold, silver and bronze with elegant and mesmerizing silhouettes used to bring life to the collection.

Munib Nawaz: Imagine…Farz Karo is an adventure in the wacky and wonderful world of Munib Nawaz. This collection is a tribute to the satirical imaginary world of Ibn-e-Insha. The collection sets the stage for the ultimate fantasy in a men’s luxury regal collectionthat allows you to be the ruler of your own style.Whether you are a man of complex prints, experimental silhouettes or of simplistic traditionaltastes – Farz Karo has it all. The collection is rooted deeply within our heritage but reaches far into the realmof modernity.

HSY:Following the showcase of the brand’s latest couture collectionShah at the Iconic Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum in Glasgow, Scotland, the King of Couture brings his #HSYxHarrisTweedHebrides collaboration to BCW Winter 2018 in Pakistan. Synonymous with the title, ‘Shah’, as envisioned by HSY, is a story of a Mughal Princess set to tie the knot with a Scottish Monarch.With all garments exclusively crafted with pure Harris Tweed Hebrides wool, the designs incorporate botanical motifs, geometric shapes inspired from Islamic art all merged with Celtic crests, lions, serpents and Scottish emblems. The collection stays true to HSY’s design ethos by merging eastern influences into Western silhouettes to create a one of a kind couture collection for the festive season.
