Tech billionaire Elon Musk has once again made headlines, this time by announcing a massive update to his AI chatbot Grok. According to Musk, the new version, possibly named Grok 3.5 or Grok 4, will feature enhanced reasoning and an ambitious mission: to rewrite the entire human knowledge base.
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) on July 4, 2025, Musk stated, “We have improved @Grok significantly. You should notice a difference when you ask Grok questions.” This statement signals a major leap forward for xAI, the company behind Grok.
A New Kind of AI Is Coming
Unlike other AI platforms, Musk claims Grok is being trained on a cleaner, more accurate version of human knowledge. The goal is to eliminate what he calls ideological bias or the “mind virus” present in mainstream AI models. Musk envisions Grok as a more truthful, open, and unfiltered alternative to popular tools like ChatGPT.

One bold idea involves using Grok’s advanced reasoning to rewrite existing information by deleting errors and filling in knowledge gaps. This would make Grok 3.5 not just smarter but also more aligned with Musk’s idea of reality.
Grok is also known for its edgy tone and willingness to address politically sensitive topics. Musk is now inviting users to submit “divisive facts” to help shape Grok’s future training.
The update positions Grok as a serious challenger in the AI space. It aims to offer not just convenience, but a radically different perspective on how machines should handle truth.
With Grok 3.5 in the works, Musk isn’t just upgrading a chatbot. He’s pushing the limits of AI to question how we understand and organize human knowledge.
