Google has officially introduced Nano Banana 2 Lite, a faster and more affordable version of its AI image generation technology. The new model focuses on rapid image production and aims to help creators, developers, and businesses generate large numbers of visuals in a short amount of time.
The company announced the launch on Tuesday as part of its expanding artificial intelligence ecosystem. According to Google, Nano Banana 2 Lite can generate an image in approximately four seconds, making it one of the quickest options currently available in the company’s AI lineup.
Google focuses on speed and affordability
Google designed Nano Banana 2 Lite for users who require high volume image generation with lower operating costs. The company stated that the model works best for testing creative ideas, producing marketing visuals, and handling fast paced content workflows.

The pricing also makes the model more accessible for large scale use. Google said Nano Banana 2 Lite costs around $0.034 per 1,000 generated images, offering a lower cost alternative for users creating AI based visual content.
The original Nano Banana model launched last year using Gemini 3.1 Flash technology. Google later introduced Nano Banana 2 with upgraded image quality and more realistic visuals.
The company also offers Nano Banana Pro, which targets advanced and professional use cases requiring more complex image generation capabilities.

New AI tools continue to expand
Google described Nano Banana 2 Lite as a specialized model optimized for speed, while Nano Banana 2 remains a more general purpose option.
The company has continued investing heavily in AI powered image and video tools as competition grows across the technology industry. Many businesses now use generative AI systems for advertising, content creation, design concepts, and social media visuals.
Alongside Nano Banana 2 Lite, Google also announced a wider rollout of Gemini Omni Flash. The model focuses on AI video generation and editing capabilities.
Google first introduced Gemini Omni Flash during Google I O earlier this year. The company confirmed that the tool costs $0.10 for every second of generated video.
Google expands creative AI ecosystem
Google also showcased Omni Product Studio, a new application that transforms static images into cinematic style e commerce videos. The company said the feature can help businesses create multimedia experiences more efficiently.
The latest announcements highlight Google’s broader strategy to strengthen its position in the rapidly growing generative AI market.
