The Chief Minister of Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif has taken an initiative to facilitate people with Free WiFi in Punjab with Metro WiFi Network Programme. The main objective of the Punjab Government is to promote learning and education for people through information technology.
As per reports free WiFi will be made available at important public places like educational institutions, hospitals, railway stations, airports, metro bus routes and bus stands.
The initiative which is called “Metro WiFi Network Programme” will initiate from Multan, Rawalpindi and Lahore and eventually will be taken to the entire Province.
Shahbaz Sharif has been taking maximum steps to promote education and learning and apart from the free WifI he has also approved the proposal for provision of tablets to mathematics and science teachers from Grade 6-10 and also initiated the program of Digitalization of textbooks with the assistance of Punjab Textbooks Board.
