Tajikistan has been recognized as the top tourism destination in Central Asia during the first-ever Dushanbe International Tourism Exhibition (DITE-2024), held from September 25 to 27, 2024, at the Dushanbe Expo Center. This landmark event, organized to coincide with World Tourism Day, showcased the country’s rich cultural, adventure, and wellness tourism potential.
Prominent Participation from Pakistan Businessmen and industrialists from Pakistan actively participated in the exhibition, setting up stalls to display their crafts and promote industrial cooperation. Several agreements were signed between Pakistani businesses and the Tajikistan Chamber of Commerce, further strengthening ties between the two nations in the tourism and hospitality sectors.
Key Addresses by Tajikistan Officials The event featured key speeches by Ahliddin Nuriddinzoda, Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan, and Kamoliddin Muminzod, Chairman of the Committee of Tourism Development Tajikistan. Nuriddinzoda highlighted that innovation in the tourism sector is part of President Imam Ali Rehman’s vision for the country’s economic development. He emphasized the growing opportunities in cultural, health, and adventure tourism, which are increasingly becoming vital to Tajikistan’s economy.
Muminzod praised the country’s natural landscapes, including mountains, rivers, lakes, and glaciers, which make it an ideal destination for all types of tourism. He stressed that Tajikistan is enhancing its tourism infrastructure under the leadership of Dushanbe Mayor Rustam Emomali, with the goal of becoming a global tourism hub by 2030.
International Significance DITE-2024 attracted over 16 countries, 20 foreign companies, and more than 90 domestic companies. The exhibition not only promoted Tajikistan’s diverse tourism offerings but also facilitated international partnerships through B2B meetings and an International Tourism Forum. Participants explored the country’s capital, Dushanbe, and visited prominent tourist sites such as the Istiklol Complex, further underscoring Tajikistan’s appeal as a major tourism destination.
