Bank Alfalah Announces Winner of ‘Bank Alfalah Rising Talent’ Award at PFDC Bridal Week 2016

Mariam Amjad declared the new Bank Alfalah Rising Talent out of the three young designers who showcased their dazzling collections while contending for the Bank Alfalah Rising Talent Award at PFDC Bridal Fashion Week 2016. Karachi – Oct 03, 2016: Out of the three young designers who showcased their dazzling collections while contending for the Bank Alfalah Rising Talent Award on the opening day of the PFDC Bridal Week 2016, Mariam Amjad was declared the new Bank Alfalah Rising Talent at the event’s closing. Mariam Amjad received a cash reward of half a million rupees from Bashir Ahmed Sheikh, Group Head, Special Assets Management, Bank Alfalah. Transparent voting of jurors and public made Mariam Amjad the latest Bank Alfalah Rising Talent in fashion, making another valuable contribution to Pakistan’s fashion industry.

The other two contenders of the Bank Alfalah Rising Talent Award included Sara Naqvi and Amina Naeem who exhibited their talent through collections that reflected their unique approach to the art of bridal couture. The new Bank Alfalah Rising Talent was announced amidst the sorority of fashion lovers and designers who made up the audience of the sparkling event.

“The Rising Talent platform does complete justice to our promise of ‘the way forward,” said Bashir Ahmed Sheikh, Group Head, Special Assets Management, Bank Alfalah, while sharing his thoughts. “The sole purpose of putting this initiative in place was to empower the Pakistani society by identifying and nurturing the incredible young talent this country has. I congratulate Mariam Amjad on becoming the newest Bank Alfalah Rising Talent in fashion and believe that this platform will prove to be a launching pad for a very successful future that awaits her. Since its inception, Bank Alfalah Rising Talent has been creating stories of incredible success and today marks the continuation of that very tradition,” he added.

Bank Alfalah’s Rising Talent Program aims to motivate, inspire and recognize young and upcoming talent in the country and provide them with opportunities to showcase their talent. Bank Alfalah has been supporting fashion bodies operating in the country, including the Fashion Pakistan Council (FPW) as well as the PFDC.
