Initially The city of lights, Karachi, was introduced to a unique BBQ cuisine in 1948 by Muhammad Ali Khan (MAK). MAK decided to name the initial hamlet as Al Haaj Bundoo Khan which became a family business. Within days it became an household name in Karachi, and a must-visit restaurant for visitors to Karachi. Bundoo Khan also introduced the famous puri paratha, and therefore the term paratha-kabab was coined. Its cuisine also includes chicken and mutton tikka & boti, reshmi kabab, malai boti, chicken sangdana/khalaji (liver), halwa etc. From a humble and modest beginning, from its initial location on Bunder Road it opened outlets at Sindhi Muslim and DHA in Karachi. They now have their restaurants in Faisalabad, Dubai, London, Houston USA and now in Islamabad . In Dubai, for the last many years they are receiving the Best Asian Award for Food.
