Turkish Airlines has announced plans to expand its operations in Pakistan starting October 27, 2025, according to reports from 24NewsHD TV. The move will see a significant boost in weekly flights to both Islamabad and Lahore, offering more convenience and connectivity for travelers between Turkey and Pakistan.
The airline will increase its weekly Istanbul–Lahore flights from 11 to 14, and Istanbul–Islamabad flights from 10 to 14. To support the expanded operations, Turkish Airlines will deploy Airbus A300 aircraft on these busy international routes. This step reflects rising demand for travel between the two countries and positions Turkish Airlines as a key player in the region’s aviation sector.
Why the Sudden Expansion?
The expansion comes just weeks after a Turkish Airlines flight made an emergency landing at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport on July 7, 2025. That flight, en route to Istanbul, turned back shortly after takeoff due to a technical issue. While the incident raised temporary concerns, it appears the airline has acted quickly to restore confidence and strengthen its presence in Pakistan.
Industry analysts suggest the increase in flights may be a strategic move to capture growing tourism, business travel, and diaspora demand. The addition of more flights also signals an improved relationship between Turkish Airlines and Pakistan’s aviation authorities.
