After a period of uncertainty, the Pakistan Super League (PSL) X is officially back on track. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi confirms that PSL X will resume on May 17, ending weeks of speculation about the fate of this landmark tenth edition.
PSL X was suspended after reaching a critical point due to rising military tensions in the region, primarily the fallout from the conflict between Pakistan and India. Given the heightened risks, the PCB had no choice but to pause operations until the situation stabilized.
The remaining matches of PSL X will be played with increased security measures in place. Matches will take place with controlled attendance, depending on the evolving circumstances. The PCB is also reviewing venues for logistical feasibility, with Karachi and Rawalpindi still likely to host the final stages.
Although the revised schedule is being finalized, the PCB Chairman has confirmed that the final will be held on May 25. Four group-stage matches are left, followed by four playoff fixtures.
Quetta Gladiators are the only team to secure their place in the next stage, while Islamabad United, Karachi Kings, Lahore Qalandars, and Peshawar Zalmi are competing for the remaining three spots. The PCB is working quickly to confirm the availability of overseas players, with several international cricketers showing their willingness to return for the tournament’s business end.
PSL X’s return is not just about cricket; it represents resilience in Pakistan’s sporting ecosystem. The league’s revival sends a clear message to fans, players, and the global cricket community that Pakistan is committed to its cricketing goals, regardless of the challenges.
The compressed schedule will place pressure on both teams and players, but fans can expect thrilling, high-stakes cricket as PSL X heads toward what promises to be an exciting finale on May 25.
