Malaysian auto giant Proton, which has collaborated with Al-Haj, the makers of FAW automobiles in Pakistan, has launched its 1300cc sedan named Saga on April 4th, 2021 with the lowest price tag in the category. So, the first look of Proton Saga is here!
A unique feature of the Saga’s launch in Pakistan is that Al-Haj Motors has also launched a limited-edition Sports version of the vehicle. R3 stands for ‘Race, Rally, and Study,’ and it was created to give Pakistanis a taste of Proton’s motorsports vehicles. Just 100 CBU units of this version are available from Al-Haj Proton.

Proton Saga Launch:
The car is available in three different versions: basic manual, standard automatic, and premium automatic. It is a sedan in the b-category, similar to the Honda City, Toyota Yaris, and Changan Alsvin.
According to a source familiar with the situation, the simple manual version of the car has released for less than Rs2 million, making it Pakistan’s cheapest sedan.
“My source in the company said that it will launch the car at a price comparable to that of the Suzuki Cultus,” said auto expert Usman Ansari, who runs a blogging website carspirit.pk. “Cultus’ different variants are priced in between Rs1.7 million and Rs2.1 million.”
Under the Auto Development Policy 2016-21, the Proton has been classified as a greenfield vehicle. New companies like Proton, Kia, Hyundai, MG Motors, Sazgar, and Changan would pay lower duty rates than existing companies like Toyota, Honda, and Suzuki.
