Rising Pakistani footballers secure moves to Maldives club

Pakistani footballers and midfielder Tauqeer Ul Hassan has taken an important step in his football journey by joining Hoandedhdhoo Council FC in the Maldives on a short-term loan. The move comes from SA Gardens FC, a Lahore-based club known for developing young talent and supporting international exposure for its players.

Tauqeer, who plays as a central midfielder, has grown steadily at SA Gardens FC. The club, founded in 2020, has already made its mark in domestic football. It finished as runners-up in the 2023–24 National Football Challenge Cup and expanded its reputation for providing strong pathways for young players. As part of its development model, the club continues to arrange loan opportunities that allow emerging players to gain experience in foreign leagues.

Pakistani players gain international exposure

Hoandedhdhoo Council FC competes in the Atoll Championship, a regional tournament within the Maldives football structure. The competition serves as a platform for clubs aiming to climb into the higher tiers of the national system. With the addition of foreign players, the club hopes to strengthen its squad and improve its performance in upcoming fixtures.

Along with Tauqeer, two more Pakistani players have made the move to Hoandedhdhoo. Young forward Adeel Younas has joined the team to add versatility in attack. His speed and adaptability are expected to support the club’s offensive play. In addition, midfielder Ali Uzair Mahmood has arrived to provide stability and control in the center of the pitch. He brings prior experience from WAPDA and POPO FC, contributing valuable depth to the squad.

The trio’s arrival displays growing recognition of Pakistani players in regional football leagues. Their move also highlights the increasing number of international opportunities available for players who perform well in domestic competitions. Moreover, coaches believe that these short-term loans help athletes adjust to different playing styles and competitive environments.

For Hoandedhdhoo Council FC, the new signings bring technical quality and energy. The club aims to use their skills to strengthen its campaign in the Atoll Championship. Meanwhile, the Pakistani players view this as a chance to sharpen their game, learn from new challenges and return home with greater confidence.

With the loan deals now active, attention turns to how the players will perform in the Maldives. Strong displays can open further opportunities and inspire more young athletes across Pakistan to pursue football professionally.
