Gen Z reshapes Valentine listening habits
For many young Pakistanis, Valentine Day now represents a broader emotional experience rather than a celebration focused only on romance. Streaming patterns show that listeners turn to melancholic and reflective songs as a way to connect with shared feelings of loss, longing, and self discovery.
Spotify’s data also highlights the most streamed Pakistani heartbreak tracks during Valentine week in 2025. Songs such as Maand by Bayaan, Hasan Raheem, and Rovalio gained strong traction among listeners. Other popular tracks included Nahin Milta by Bayaan and Over You by Hamza Malik. These songs, known for emotional lyrics and atmospheric sound, resonated strongly with younger audiences navigating modern relationships.
Geographically, heartbreak listening trends concentrated in major urban centers. Lahore ranked as the leading city for heartbreak music streams, followed by Karachi, Islamabad, Faisalabad, and Rawalpindi.
