Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has officially launched the upgraded Pak Business Express 2025, a modern train service aimed at reviving Pakistan Railways and improving long-distance travel. The launch ceremony took place at Lahore Railway Station, where the PM also inspected upgraded facilities and services.
The newly revamped train will operate between Lahore and Karachi, offering an 18.5-hour journey packed with improved amenities and upgraded infrastructure.
Pak Business Express 2025 Offers European-Style Facilities
The Pak Business Express 2025 features air-conditioned coaches, digital ticketing systems, and modern reception lounges designed to improve the passenger experience. For business-class travelers, the service now includes European-style amenities such as reclining seats, enhanced lighting, and better dining options.
Speaking at the launch, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised Minister Hanif Abbasi and former Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique for their roles in rebuilding Pakistan’s railway system. He said this new launch is a major step toward restoring public trust and modernizing public transportation in the country.
The Prime Minister also noted that this train is part of a wider national reform effort. He highlighted ongoing negotiations with China under CPEC Phase II and a warming of diplomatic ties with the United States. On the economic front, he mentioned a recent drop in inflation and improvements in several financial indicators.
With the Pak Business Express 2025, the government hopes to offer a cleaner, safer, and more reliable alternative to air and road travel between two of Pakistan’s largest cities. Officials say this service could mark the beginning of a broader revival across the entire railway network.
