HBO has revealed the very first glimpse of its upcoming Harry Potter TV series, bringing fresh magic to screens once again. Filming has officially begun at Warner Bros Studios in the UK, with fans eager to meet the new faces behind the iconic characters.
The series is a faithful remake of J.K. Rowling’s seven-book saga, with each season covering one book in full. It promises a deeper dive into the world of Hogwarts, complete with familiar spells, dark mysteries, and the wonder that made the franchise a global favorite.
A Fresh Cast Brings the Wizarding World Back to Life
Dominic McLaughlin steps into the role of Harry Potter, wearing the famous glasses and Gryffindor robes. He stars alongside Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley and Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger. These young talents were chosen after an extensive nationwide casting search in the UK.
Joining the trio are Rory Wilmot as Neville Longbottom and Amos Kitson as Dudley Dursley. Anton Lesser plays Garrick Ollivander, while Louise Brealey takes on the role of Madam Hooch.

The series also introduces big-name actors. John Lithgow will portray Albus Dumbledore, Paapa Essiedu plays Severus Snape, Janet McTeer is Minerva McGonagall, and Nick Frost appears as Hagrid. Paul Whitehouse takes on the role of Argus Filch.
The Malfoy family is back too, with Lox Pratt as Draco and Johnny Flynn as Lucius. Daniel Rigby and Bel Powley will appear as Vernon and Petunia Dursley. And Katherine Parkinson takes on the role of Molly Weasley.

HBO has entrusted parts of the direction to Mark Mylod, best known for his work on Succession. The show is expected to premiere in 2027. Marking 30 years since the first book, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, was published.
