Tourists heading to some of the most scenic destinations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will now need to pay an entry fee. The KP government has announced that it is implementing a mandatory fee system for all visitors to major tourist locations, including Naran, Kaghan, and Lake Saif-ul-Malook.
According to official documents, the decision is part of a new strategy to manage tourism more effectively in the Kaghan Valley. No tourist will be allowed into these areas without paying the fee first.
KP Tourist Spots Entry Fee 2025 Now in Effect
A dedicated fee collection point will be set up at Hussamabad, where each visitor will be charged based on their mode of transport. The official rates are:
- PKR 200 per person for large vehicles
- PKR 100 per person for small vehicles
- PKR 20 per person for motorcycles
Local residents of the area will be exempt from paying this fee.

The new system aims to generate revenue for tourism development while also helping authorities regulate the growing number of visitors. With tourist traffic increasing every summer, KP officials say the entry fee will contribute to infrastructure maintenance and better management of public spaces.
While many believe this step is necessary to support sustainable tourism. Others worry it may discourage local travelers from visiting these popular spots. However, the government assures that all collections will be reinvested into improving services, cleanliness, and overall visitor experience.
