Emirates crypto payment system is moving into the future as the airline partners with Singapore-based Cryptodotcom to accept cryptocurrency payments for flight bookings starting in 2026. The move aligns with Dubai’s growing focus on becoming a global hub for digital assets and blockchain-based services.
The agreement, formalized through a signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), is expected to appeal to younger, tech-savvy travelers who prefer digital currencies. Emirates and Cryptodotcom will now collaborate to ensure seamless integration of the new payment system. This includes developing the required infrastructure, following strict security protocols, and simplifying the customer payment process.
Through this system, customers will be able to purchase tickets using cryptocurrencies. Payments will automatically convert to UAE Dirhams (AED) at real-time exchange rates. As a result, travelers won’t need to worry about manual currency conversions or delays, offering a smoother and faster experience.

The launch announcement event included high-profile guests such as Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, along with senior executives from both companies. This strategic partnership also follows a regional trend. For instance, Air Arabia began accepting AE Coin in May 2025, setting a strong precedent for crypto integration in the aviation sector.
Emirates is not only embracing innovation but also enhancing convenience for modern travelers. The plan includes joint marketing campaigns aimed at educating customers and promoting the benefits of using crypto for flight bookings.
