X (formerly Twitter) is gearing up for a major transformation. According to an announcement by Elon Musk and X’s Head of Product Nikita Bier, the platform’s main feed will be powered entirely by an AI-driven algorithm by November 2025. This shift is designed to give users a more personalized and relevant experience while reducing exposure to mainstream algorithmic content and politically focused posts.
How X’s AI-Driven Timeline Will Work
One of the most significant changes is the integration of Grok, X’s AI assistant. This feature will allow users to dynamically adjust their feeds based on their interests. By prompting Grok, users can tailor their timelines in real time, ensuring the content they see aligns more closely with their personal preferences. This promises a more niche and interest-focused feed compared to the current one-size-fits-all approach.
Transparency is also a key part of the rollout. Musk and Bier have confirmed that X will open-source its algorithm every two weeks, allowing users to understand how their content is being curated and offer feedback for improvement. By late 2025, Grok’s real-time customization will be fully operational, making the timeline more interactive and user-led than ever before.
Additional features are also in the works. Grok will include a “Read Aloud” function that lets users listen to AI-generated responses in a natural voice, improving accessibility and making it easier to consume content on the go.

Bier emphasized in her post that the goal is to move away from the mainstream algorithm. And political noise and help users “find their niche.” While some accounts still show random viral content, improvements are ongoing to ensure a smoother, more relevant experience for everyone.
This bold move marks a significant milestone in X’s evolution. If successful, it could redefine how people engage with social media. Giving them more control over what they see and how they interact with content.
