Punjab Government Releases Official Basant Anthem Phir Aai Basant

The Government of Punjab has released the official Basant anthem titled Phir Aai Basant, formally recognizing the festival as an important cultural tradition in the province. The anthem reflects the government’s effort to preserve Punjab’s heritage while promoting organized and responsible celebrations.

The release of the anthem comes under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and aligns with a broader cultural vision associated with Nawaz Sharif. This vision focuses on safeguarding Punjab’s shared traditions and celebrating cultural identity through structured initiatives.

By launching an official anthem, the Punjab government has placed Basant within a regulated framework. Authorities say the move acknowledges the historical and cultural roots of the festival while ensuring that celebrations take place in a controlled and safe environment.

Safety Measures and Public Arrangements for Basant

Alongside the anthem, the government has announced a series of safety and regulatory measures for the Basant period. Roof No Objection Certificates have been made mandatory for kite flying. In addition, the sale and purchase of kites and string will only be allowed through government-authorised dealers.

To protect aviation safety, authorities have banned kite flying in areas surrounding Lahore Airport. Motorcycle riders have also been directed to use safety wire to reduce the risk of injuries during the festival days.

To support public movement and ease traffic pressure, the Punjab government has announced free public transport services for three days. These services will be available on February 6, 7, and 8. Officials said the initiative aims to encourage people to use public transport instead of motorcycles and private vehicles.

The Phir Aai Basant anthem has been released on the official digital platforms of the Government of Punjab. Authorities hope the anthem will strengthen cultural connection while reinforcing the message of safe and regulated celebrations across the province.
