Australia has introduced an important update for visa applicants in Pakistan. Eligible applicants can now submit key identity information through the Australian Immi App. This change is designed to make the visa process easier and more convenient for people who qualify.
Australian High Commissioner to Pakistan Tim Kane announced this update. He shared that applicants can upload their passport details and facial biometrics directly from their smartphones. The move aims to reduce long waits and unnecessary travel for basic verification.
How the New Immi App Process Works
According to the official guidance, Australia Visa Pakistan applicants can use the app only if they have received a “requirement to provide personal identifiers” letter. This letter must include a Visa Lodgement Number starting with AUI or AUH. If the number begins with these prefixes, the applicant is allowed to submit their biometrics through the app.
Applicants whose VLN does not start with AUI or AUH must still visit an Australian Biometrics Collection Centre to complete the process in person. This helps maintain secure and accurate data collection.
To use the Immi App, applicants must have a smartphone with NFC enabled. They also need a stable internet connection. The app requires access to the device camera and location services to verify the identity and support the biometric scanning process.
