Turkish Airlines Hosts Iftar Dinner for Local Air Cargo Community in Karachi

Turkish Airlines Wins Two Awards at Airfinance Journal’s Awards Night

Senior Officials from Turkish Airlines’ Cargo Department Turkey, Attended & Made Important Announcements at the Iftar.

 [Pakistan, Thursday 24th June’15]: Turkish Airlines, the number one ranked airline and winner of two major awards at the recent prestigious Airfinance Journal awards ceremony, hosted a special Iftar dinner for members of the Pakistani air logistics business community and key media on 23rd June, 2015 at Avari Towers in Karachi.

The special event is part of the airline’s longstanding commitment to strengthen its ties with the local community in Pakistan, particularly the air cargo industry, which has aided Turkish Airlines in successfully becoming one of the local market leaders.

On hand to welcome attendees during the evening’s affair were senior officials of the cargo department of Turkish Airlines Mr. Ali Turk, Senior Vice President Cargo and Mr. Huseyin Ceyhan, Regional Cargo Director Asia Pacific, who were visiting from Istanbul, the hub of Turkish Airlines operations. From their Pakistan office, General Manager [North] Mr. Fatih Atacan Temel was present to greet attendees.

Making some important announcements about Turkish Airlines’ operations in and relationship with Pakistan, Senior Vice President Cargo Mr. Ali Turk, who wore a traditional Sindhi cap and Ajrak, said “Pakistan’s economy is dynamic and growing aggressively. In fact we believe Pakistan will be amongst the top economies in the next 5 years! We understand that the trade relationship between Pakistan and Turkey is far behind its potential, which is why we are looking to double our investment in Islamabad and Lahore, and also plan on giving tough competition to local players by expanding our cargo operations in Pakistan”.

Following Iftar and dinner, a lucky draw took place where visiting cards of everyone who attended were picked from and two return tickets to Turkey were given out to winners. The event became the talk of the evening in Karachi, as the hashtag #TurkishAirlines became one of the top trending topics on popular social media networking website Twitter.
